Tom Watry is a loving husband, father, and friend who was diagnosed with lung cancer in the fall of 2010. He initially responded well to chemotherapy and radiation treatments in an effort to shrink the tumor. He underwent surgery in March and has been battling infections and recovery since. In June, he was told his cancer has spread to his other lung.
Tom is 53 and has been married to Susan for 23 years. They have two beautiful daughters, Emma and Chelsea, both in college. Tom and Sue ran a dairy farm for many years.
Three years ago the Watrys sold their dairy operation. Tom then worked as an equipment operator for Custom Farm Work, but he has not been able to work since this ordeal started. Sue works at a daycare for the Plymouth School District. The family would like to thank the Gift of Life committee for selecting Tom as a 2011 recipient and everyone for their prayers and support.
