Gift Of Life Recipient 2007

On April 11th, 2007, John was in a truck accident due to the bad snow conditions. Because of sharp chest and leg pains, he was taken by ambulance to St. Nicholas Hospital and then to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. It was determined he had a 6 cm aortic aneurysm and needed open heart surgery. He underwent an immediate 11-hour surgery to replace his aortic valve and part of his aorta. John’s heart has recuperated well, however, he has not been able to return to work at this time. Currently, he is going through physical therapy due to continuing back and leg issues.
John is married to Penny (Roberts). They have two children: Skyler - 8 and Cooper - 5.
